  • 1973

    Kyowa America Corporation is organized with 100% investment by Kyowa Electric & Chemical Co. Ltd.1

  • 1979

    Kyowa America manufacturing facility is established in Irvine, CA. Kyowa America is recognized by UL as molder/finisher of fabricated plastic parts.
    (UL# B-1063W).

  • 1987

    Kyowa America expands with an additional facility in Costa Mesa, CA.

  • 1989

    Kyowa America expands with an additional facility in Tijuana, Mexico - Kyomex S.A. de C.V.
    (UL# B-1063M).

  • 1992

    Kyowa America expands with an additional facility in Waynesburg, PA.
    (UL# B-1063E).

  • 1994

    Kyowa America receives ISO-9002 certification for three facilities (California, Pennsylvania and Mexico).

  • 1996

    Kyomex S.A. de C.V., Plant 1, is expanded to double its size.

  • 1998

    Kyowa America expands with an additional facility in Mexicali, Mexico - Kyowa Mexicali S.A. de C.V.
    (UL# B-1063X).

  • 1999

    Kyowa America receives ISO 9002 certification for Mexicali facility.

    Kyowa receives ISO 14001 certification for California and Tijuana (Kyomex Plant 1) facilities.

  • 2000

    Pennsylvania facility receives QS-9000 certification.

  • 2001

    Pennsylvania facility receives ISO-14001 certification.

  • 2002

    Mexicali facility receives ISO-14001 certification.

    California facility receives ISO-9001:2000 certification.

  • 2003

    Kyomex Plant 2 is established in Tijuana, Mexico.

    Kyowa America receives ISO-9001:2000 certification for three facilities (Kyomex Plant 1, Pennsylvania, and Mexicali). This facility is approved by Toyota to serve as a Tier One Supplier.

  • 2005

    Kyomex Plant 2 receives ISO/TS 16949 certification.

    California receives ISO/TS 16949 certification.

  • 2006

    Kyowa America Corporate Office relocates to Westminster, CA. Kyowa receives ISO 14001:2004 certification for 4 facilities (California, Pennsylvania, Kyomex Plant 1 and Mexicali).

    Kyomex Plant 2 receive ISO 14001:2004 certification. It is also expanded by an additional 3840 sq m. including the installation of the Kyowa Tooling Shop. Added new painting capacity.

  • 2007

    U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) Program Approval, allows for expedited border crossing.

  • 2008

    Kyowa America receives the prestigious TOYOTA "Superior Quality Performance Award".

  • 2012

    Toyota motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc certifies Kyowa America in recognition of Quality performance achievement.
