Commitment to the Environment

Kyowa's environmental policy states:

"Kyowa America Corporation is committed to the continual improvement of our Environmental Management System (EMS) to minimize potential impacts to the environment which may result from our operations, related activities and services.

Through our EMS, Kyowa resolves to:

• Prevent pollution and minimize waste;
• Adhere to relevant environmental laws and regulations;
• Communicate our policy to all persons working for Kyowa or on its behalf; and,
• Implement environmental management programs in which our environmental objectives and targets will be set and periodically reviewed by our management to ensure the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the EMS."

Environmental Programs, and an internal audit system designed to meet ISO 14001 requirements, help Kyowa America Corporation to manage its impacts on the environment. Improvement projects are implemented through the 30/60/90 Day Project program, a goal-setting program in which all departments participate and report their progress monthly.

Kyowa America Corporation is continually striving to improve the environment around us. Through the use of water-borne paints, we significantly reduced air emissions without affecting product quality. Programs have also been implemented to conserve our natural resources and reduce waste.
